Ifield School is seeking to appoint a full-time or part-time Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and professional therapy team. The post is fixed term from April 2022 until January 2023 to cover the maternity leave of one of our existing Speech and Language Therapists. There may be the opportunity to extend the post further than January 2023. The successful candidate will be working with pupils aged 4-19 who have speech, language and communication difficulties associated with profound, severe and complex needs, including ASD. 

The Speech and Language Therapy team is an integral part of our school and provides the following services:

  • Implementation of speech and language therapy with pupils from early years to students at our Sixth Form.
  • Resources to support our Total Communication Approach
  • Outreach support
  • Training to staff and families

Ifield School is an outstanding school with a commitment to developing communication through a Total Communication Approach for pupils and an in-depth training programme for all staff. There may be opportunities for developing our outreach work with mainstream schools in and around Gravesend, including our partner school in the Cedar Federation.

Salary is equivalent to NHS Agenda for change Band 5/6 depending on experience. 

The successful applicant must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
