You will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the children over the lunch time period, both on the playground and in the dining hall, maintaining their safety within the guidelines and policies of the school. You will also be required to set up and clean the dining hall before and after service.

Please note that this role will include periods of working outside, all year round.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has the desire to be an effective member of a team .
  • Ideally, has previous experience working within a Primary School setting or with primary aged children.
  • Has a positive attitude and is passionate about helping children to develop, thrive and flourish?
  • Is well organised, reliable and a flexible team member.
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with children and colleagues.
  • Is self-motivated and able to show initiative in inspiring learners.
  • Has high expectations of pupils and an understanding of how to help children to develop.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development.

We can offer you:

  • Children who are respectful, warm and want to learn.
  • A truly supportive team of staff at Newington.
  • Support and guidance from our excellent leadership team.
  • A well- resourced and innovative school.
  • Ongoing training to support own professional development.

The position will commence with an immediate start, where possible on a temporary contract in the first instance. Interviews will take place week beginning 24th January 2022.

Information about the school

Newington Community Primary School and Nursery is a large primary school which is situated on the outskirts of Ramsgate. We are 3-form entry, however every year group is split into four classes, to ensure a lower adult to child ratio.

We have a committed and enthusiastic staff who are determined to enable every child to achieve their potential. Our children are at the heart of everything we do. OFSTED visited us in April 2017 and agreed with our judgement that we do an outstanding job for the children in our care!
