Advert

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic full time teaching assistant or EYFS practitioner to support our EYFS pupils with immediate effect until September 2022 (in the first instance).

This is a fixed term contract in the first instance.  There is a possibilty of extension next year based on performance outcomes.

The contract is term time only for 26.66 hours per week.

This role is to support a mixed class of Year R and Year 1 pupils, working mainly with the new entrants into Year R including a number of pupils with additional needs.  Experience working in a school setting with pupils with SEND is highly desirable.

We need someone who has high expectations and a drive to improve outcomes for our learners. The ideal  applicant should be a good team player but also be self motivated and able to act upon their own initiative.  The applicant should have a good understanding of child development and of how children grow and learn and be able to enthuse, engage and challenge children in their learning journey.  They must have patience and be flexible when working with children with SEND who need a more personalised approach to learning.

The applicant must be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors in order to support learners in a range of environments, even on cold days!  The applicant should understand that working in a small school often means going the extra mile, without being asked, because it benefits the whole community - especially the pupils.

We can offer you a friendly ‘family’ ethos, a well resourced working environment, a staff team that is caring and committed to ensuring children’s maximum achievement, delightful pupils to work with and supportive governors and parents.

Contact with the school prior to application is strongly recommended. Please contact the head teacher by email at lpaylorsutton@langdon.kent.sch.uk to make the necessary arrangements.  Please be patient if we do not contact you immediately; someone will get back to you before final date for applications. Applications should be made on line via Kent Teach.

Langdon Primary School is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of children’s welfare. The post is subject to checks in line with this commitment including an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.

Information about the school

Langdon Primary School is in the small village of East Langdon between Deal and Dover. The school is very much part of the community and links with other groups are strong. Our Governing Body and parents are exceptionally supportive of the school. There is a positive ‘family’ feel amongst our 90 children and staff; older children are encouraged to take nurturing and leadership roles in order to ensure that everyone is valued and younger children learn from their older role models. We have a very positive ethos for learning and we put high expectations of achievement and progress at the heart of what we do. The school had its last Ofsted inspection in January 2020 and received a GOOD grading and a very positive, accurate report.
