We wish to appoint a full-time teaching assistant, supporting a pupil with special educational needs. We are a large, inclusive primary school in Gravesend who are committed to ensuring all our pupils have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable teaching assistant to join our supportive and experienced Key Stage 2 team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide appropriate levels of support to a child with additional needs, alongside general classroom support

Person Specification

You will need to be a hardworking TA who has the skills and passion to support a pupil with SEN. This is a unique opportunity to have a real impact on the child’s life, assisting them with their learning and development.

This post will end when the pupil leaves our school setting.

Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in Learning Support, NVQ level 2 or equivalent or be willing to undertake this training or be able to demonstrate the relevant experience.

St John’s is a four-form entry primary academy located in Gravesend, serving the Parish of St John the Evangelist and the local area. It is part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership (KCSP), a multi-academy trust established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent which currently comprises of 26 academies (21 primary and 5 secondary).

St John’s is an inclusive academy. Its dedicated staff, helpers and governance committee members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best.
