Advert

If you have a growth mindset, love teaching and have a passion for learning then our children need you! We are looking to appoint an adaptable, creative and enthusiastic SENDCo to start in April 2022.

You will be a dedicated, vibrant teacher with experience, who will promote our ambition to 'nurture the potential in everyone'. You will work with our Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher to determine the strategic direction of the SEN policy and to share your experience. You will liaise with staff, parents and other professionals to ensure the school’s responsibilities are effectively implemented for the benefit of our children. Although there is not a class responsibility, there is a requirement to model and coach excellent teaching practice to teachers and other staff supporting the SEND provision and to provide support for staff with interventions and strategies for all pupils with additional needs.

The successful candidate would need to have an excellent understanding of the Mainstream Core Standards and enjoy supporting children who need a tailored approach and creative enhancements to make the curriculum inclusive for all. An understanding of developing Nurture provision and SEND interventions would also be advantageous. Candidates will be required to have qualified teacher status together with the National award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete this within 3 years of the appointment).

 We want teachers who are;

  • strong, confident and enjoy making a difference
  • reflective and willing to learn
  • have a clear understanding of outstanding teaching and learning
  • have high expectations of themselves and children
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • able to contribute to and support the Christian ethos of our school.

We can offer:

  • a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
  • hardworking and committed staff and governors
  • enthusiastic pupils
  • opportunities for professional development
  • coaching, support and mentoring
  • an attractive and well resourced school.

Visits to the school are essential. Please telephone the school office to arrange a visit on 01892 678980.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and a check against the ISA Barred list for children.
