Riverview Infant School is a member of The Pathway Academy Trust and benefits from collaborative working and support from its partner schools and the Trust’s Central Team.  This position offers an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to work for a friendly and supportive school where all members of the school community work as a team. 

The Role:

The successful applicant will work closely with the office team and headteacher, they will provide administrative support for the school’s daily functions such as daily pupil registration, dealing with parent and visitor enquiries, answering the telephone, and sending out information via our school communication system.  The role requires flexibility, tact and problem solving on a daily basis, therefore it is essential that you are professional, approachable and a very effective communicator. You will believe first impressions and a positive experience create long-lasting relationships with parents and that the school office plays a pivotal role to the school’s success.  You will be able to deal calmly with matters face-to-face, over the phone and via Email.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

  • High levels of organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional approach and ability to process and manage information accurately, under pressure, whilst still maintaining high standards of performance levels
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as using their own initiative
  • Ability to work efficiently amidst a busy office environment and have plenty of positive energy. Reacting flexibly to change is a must!
  • Ability to cope with conflicting demands and interruptions and to work to tight deadlines in a methodical manner, observing confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent ICT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes. Experience of using our management Information system Arbor, would be an advantage.

An understanding of relevant child protection policies which keep children safe in a school setting would be beneficial but is not essential as full training would be provided. Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
