We are seeking a learning support specialists who are also able to drive, to join us at City of Rochester School, Cliffe Woods, Rochester in Kent.

As a driver you will transport children (in company vehicles) to and from placements, school visits and be part of our learning support team. You will be highly motivated to support students with special needs, 1:1 and as part of a team, inside and outside the classroom to make progress and fulfil their potential.

The role will be mainly driving, but while on visits you will support the children as well as any non-driving time will be spent supporting pupils in the classroom. 

You should:

  • Be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
  • Hold a license (category B) for at least 12 months, the license must not have:
      • More than 6 points
      • Have any drink/drive endorsements
      • Have a ban within the last 5 years
      • Have more than two current speeding endorsements
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with learners and their parents/carers
  • Ability to work with parents
  • Ability, patience and judgement to manage behaviour

It would be preferable if you also held a D1 licence.

Hours of work are between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
