Advert

Here at Chartham Primary School, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced and committed individual to take on the exciting role as School Business Manager. This new role includes a broad range of responsibilities that will require an extensive set of skills, enthusiasm and resilience. Having a bubbly, enthusiastic and positive ‘can-do’ approach are all essential too.

As SBM you will be responsible for managing the school’s finances, including day-to-day financial tasks, purchasing, budget setting and budget monitoring. You will also oversee premises and facilities matters, including health and safety, and the administrative function of our school. Advising on and implementing the day-to-day support that enables the school to operate effectively and efficiently are also key duties within the role. This post requires adaptability, flexibility and an empathetic approach, as daily life in school can be fast-paced with frequent changes.

The SBM will be the line manager for the office and site staff, and suggest solutions where necessary to support the School Leadership Team, whilst organising their own time and priorities independently. They will also have the drive to review and refresh systems, making use of new and existing technologies to improve efficiency.

The SBM will work closely with the Headteacher; this will be a key, trusting relationship. They will regularly interact with a range of stakeholders (staff, governors, parents, pupils and external people) so will need to be highly organised, work well as part of a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The post will be 35 hours a week, term time only, plus two additional weeks at Kent Range 8, £26,205-£29,885 pro-rata - this equates to an actual salary of £22,096-£25,199.
