Are you the very special teacher we need for our pupils? Would you like to teach a small class with a team of highly experienced support staff?   Do you believe in a holistic approach to the whole child?  

We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2/3 teacher as soon as possible on a fixed term 1 year contract in the first instance with the opportunity for a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be joining a lively, enthusiastic and supportive team with many opportunities for continuing professional development. 

We are looking for a caring and and creative teacher who is an excellent classroom practitioner, ideally with experience of KS3. You must be resourceful, flexible, positive and motivated with a good sense of humour.  You will share our belief that all pupils can achieve and be successful.  You will have the ability to organise, inspire and motivate young people with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. 

Bower Grove is a modern, well-equipped school providing a highly personalised and structured curriculum. We have 12 pupils in a class with three learning support assistants.   • Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Can plan lessons creatively for pupils who require personalised learning.
  • Can teach Life Skills and Independence Skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Have some experience and enthusiasm for working with pupils with social communication difficulties and Autism/Learning difficulties, or a desire to learn.
  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Have strong emotional resilience.
  • Have empathy and understanding towards young people.
