£28,224 - £30,004 per annum including SEN Allowance + £1,200 per annum if holds HLTA (Actual 41 week salary)

Permanent position

38.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year

As part of the 41 weeks, the post holder will be required to commit to two weeks Short Term break care work during school holidays.

 Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland in Broadstairs, Kent. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging using a Gentle Teaching approach and engaging in reflective practice. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management and Children’s Rights. We have been awarded the Gold standard for the Investors in People accreditation and can offer a vibrant, life-long career.

The aim of this post is to lead and manage the class in the absence of the teacher, directing the implementation of schedules and support plans for the young people, and designing and implementing daily programmes and schedules.

 In the short term absence of a teacher, you will, on a regular basis, supervise whole classes, ensuring colleagues deliver pre-set work and behavioural support plans safely and effectively.

Information about the school

Bradstow is a residential special school registered as a children's home in Broadstairs, Kent. It is maintained by the London Borough of Wandsworth for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities who are on the autistic spectrum continuum. Many of our children and young people have associated communication difficulties and emotional/behavioural challenges associated with their disabilities and medical needs.
