 We are currently seeking an Interim Vice Principal: Head of Lower School to join our Academy Senior Leadership Team.  The Lower school is designed to ensure that our youngest pupils get off to an excellent start in life.  We are committed to enabling all children to read early and develop, within them, the confidence and characteristics that will help them overcome any challenges that come their way.

 The Head of Lower School will develop a strategic approach to raise the attainment and achievement of all pupils/students, taking responsibility for the leadership, internal organisation, management and control of their area of responsibility and consult appropriately in doing so.  They will promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom the Academy and Governing Body is responsible and those with whom they come into contact.

Skills and Experience -  To be considered for the position:

  • Hold a good honours degree or equivalent and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE);
  • Proven strong, effective leadership and people management skills. 
  • A strong awareness of whole school and wider educational issues and current developments.
  • Demonstrable ability to build effective working relationships with a range of colleagues and stakeholders, including parents/carers, teachers and external professionals.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills - needed for prioritising and balancing a busy and varied workload.
  • Able to credibly challenge established assumptions and ways of working and make a valuable contribution to influencing organisational culture.
