We are looking for a Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 child at Lower Halstow School in EYFS with ASD, no behaviour issues.  We have secured funding, therefore have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team and develop their skills in this area.  We are looking for an experienced TA to join us until the end of the academic year and possibly longer term.  Experience in speech and language would be an advantage but full training is available so this is not essential.  You will have support & guidance from our Speech and Language Higher Level Teaching Assistant and our speech therapist. 

Our most important requirements are finding someone who

-can model good speech

-is committed to helping every child achieve their potential

-is willing to undertake CPD

-shares our caring ethos

-has some previous experience working in a school

The post will be for 25 hrs a week.

Information about the federation

Newington CEP School and Lower Halstow School are single form entry village Primary Schools for children aged 2 - 11 and 4-11. Both have close links with their village church and community and spacious school grounds. Our schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with a variety of resources and healthy budget for projects.

Newington was extended in 2000 with 4 additional classrooms and library and the original building has been fully renovated with the addition of an outdoor classroom and MUGA. It has an on-site nursery building catering for pupils from 2 years old. Lower Halstow School moved into its present building in October 2005 and offers many modern facilities such as a sports hall, running track, outdoor classroom, ICT suite & separate dining hall.

We have supportive governors and parents and our pupils are happy, polite, enthusiastic and are proud of their school. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective.
