Teaching Assistant required for a pupils in  KS2 (1:2 position).

Hours of work: up to 5 days per week (actual hours TBC could be part time)

We are looking for an enthusiastic learning support assistant to join our friendly team. The role involves working 1:2 with children with additional needs, this role does not involve working with behavioural needs. There may be a requirement to assist with some personal care needs. You will be based in a lovely happy school with very friendly children and supportive colleagues. As a school very are always interested in continued professional development of our staff and you will have opportunities to work closely with our SENCO. Salary: Kent Range 3

 

We are seeking a candidates who will:

  • Be innovative and enthusiastic;
  • Have high expectations of children’s achievement and a commitment to inspiring learners;
  • Some support for children over playtimes and lunchtimes.

Do you have these attributes?

  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Child Care and Education/Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a commitment to working towards this;
  • Preferably some experience in phonics and interventions for SEN children;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A good standard of maths, English and ICT skills;
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable;
  • Organised and able to work independently, recording children's progress where required;
  • Will initiate and participate in play activities or interventions during lunchtimes, encouraging children to engage.
  • Be prepared to support the child's physical needs and undergo training in relation to this.
