We are looking to appoint a full-time Caretaker with effect from January 2022.  The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside our friendly Site Team, assisting the Site Manager in the cleaning, maintenance and caretaking activities to ensure the safety, security and sound condition of the buildings, hydrotherapy pool, facilities and grounds.

The post holder will be expected to have experience in building maintenance and/or cleaning and skills in a number of disciplines. They will also need to be flexible and self-motivated, have good communication skills and a good understanding of the health and safety requirements of a large site. No two days are the same and this post offers the opportunity to work in a friendly, inclusive enviroment to make a positive contribution to our unique and outstanding school.

Previous experience of working in a school would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is a year round contract for 37 hours per week. Working hours will be finalised on appointment but are likely to be 10.30am to 6.30pm. The succesful candidate will need to be flexible and also to switch shifts as required and there may also be a requirement to work evenings and weekends on an occasional basis. Overtime hours will be paid at the appropriate rate.

Please note that Ifield School is federated with our neighbouring primary school, King's Farm and there will be an occasional requirement to work across both sites when the need arises.

Ifield school is a special school for children and young people with profound, severe, and complex needs. Almost half of all our pupils have a diagnosis of autism and speech and language difficulties whilst some have complex medical needs.
