Headcorn Primary School is looking for a Full Time / Part Time Teaching Assistant to join our energetic and enthusiastic staff team who love to inspire and support our children and are a willing team players. We are looking for a caring, flexible and reliable person. Staff wellbeing is a priority at our school and we offer a supportive, friendly working environment.

We will interview suitable candidates as applications are received and can offer ahead of the closing date.

As a school we encourage the personal development and progression of staff. For our Teaching Assistant team this has included opportunities such as Nurture, Speech & Language, NVQ training and progression to HLTA status.

We need someone who can work from 8.30am to 3.30pm for a full time position, Monday to Friday with half an hour lunch break. Part-time positions can be discussed according to the needs of the school. As part of the contract your hours will include one staff development day and nine 1.5 hour staff meetings after school, across the year (dates will be given in advance). English and Maths GCSE or equivalent is essential.

The start date for this position is January 2022 or earlier if available.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • the school’s core values with both adults and children
  • effective communication with children, colleagues, parents and carers
  • ability to work on a one to one basis as well as taking the lead with small activities
  • ability to work in a supportive role within a classroom under the direction of the class teacher but also taking the lead in some aspects of school life
  • high standards in all areas of the role at all times
  • high expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour
  • flexibility and a ‘can do’ attitude

Our school is set in the growing village of Headcorn and has completed its transition into a two-form entry primary school.
