Lydden and River Primary Schools Federation needs a finance officer to undertake routine finance duties under the line management of our Business Manager. 

This position is for 26 hours per week which can be organised flexibly over 5 days proportionately between the schools. This is a term time only role, 39 weeks per year Kent Range 5 £19,335 - £20,483 pro rata.

In this role, you will work with our Business Manager, the Executive Headteacher, Heads of each school and other staff, from a financial viewpoint as we strive to achieve our aims for children. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial information, ensuring that all internal KCC regulations and legislative requirements are met.

Minimum qualifications:

5 GCSEs including Maths and English grade C [4] and ideally NVQ level 3 - A level (or equivalent) in any subject. 

The ideal candidate may have a background in a finance role either in school or another context. It would be an advantage to have knowledge of financial procedures and regulations.

The successful applicant will consistently promote the schools in a positive manner. They will have the following skills and competencies or be willing to learn quickly in order to become proficient in the role:

  • Competent in  ESS SIMS Finance Module (FMS)
  • Financial Standards Compliance
  • Safeguarding Procedures
  • Awareness of Kent BPS 

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and you will be efficient, well organised and purposeful in your approach. The role often involves working to deadlines, so it is important that you can manage your workload, being able to prioritise in order to meet these.
