The University of Kent Academies Trust (UKAT) are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking individual for the role of Assistant SENCO to join our dedicated team. This role will be based at Brompton Academy and is being offered on a full time, permanent basis.    

You will be an experienced SEN practitioner who will contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Trust’s SEND policy and will have proven and demonstrable SEN experience.  You will hold the National Award in Special Educational Needs Coordinator or be willing to gain and we would be pleased to support you in gaining this qualification. 

In this role our Assistant SENCO will lead on Literacy Development and will be responsible for coaching our wider teaching staff in SEN Teaching strategies and skills.   You may have experience of coaching in this capacity and will have creative and supportive ideas for doing so.   

You will be joining a team comprised our Vice Principal for Inclusion and SEN, SENCO and a team of Assistant SENCOs, in addition to other professionals such as Speech & Language Therapists, Counsellors, HLTAs and Teaching Assistants.  We are looking for a vibrant and energetic individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of our students and want to be a part of our team. You will need to be confident, resilient, approachable and a good communicator as you will be required to liaise with students, staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
