Garlinge Primary School and Nursery currently has a vacancy for an Additional SENDCo. We require an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced teaching professional to work alongside our current Lead SENDCo to support the management of the school's Inclusion and SEND responsibilities, ensuring these are effectively and appropriately implemented throughout our school community. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practitioner with SEND expertise to use their skills, vision and drive to enable our children with SEND to flourish and reach their potential.

We have a degree of flexibility with this position and have scope to offer a full-time position working five days a week (with a 0.4 equivalent teaching commitment across the school) or could also offer the role as a part-time position working three days a week (without a teaching commitment). Please indicate on your application form whether you are interested in a full-time or part-time position.

The successful candidate is likely to be a qualified SENDCo, or has the commitment and ambition to gain this qualification. As part of the role the post holder will also have direct supervisory responsibility for a large team of Teaching Assistants.

At Garlinge we pride ourselves on our inclusivity. As part of the Additional SENDCo role we also therefore require a commitment to delivering an outstanding level of Teaching and Learning and a rich and enjoyable curriculum for our diverse range of pupils.

If you would like to visit our school please email the HR Officer on ashbyc@garlinge.kent.sch.uk to make an appointment for a tour of our large site. The tour will be conducted by a member of the Leadership Team.

Our school website also features a comprehensive video tour of the school which gives a fantastic representation of a typical day at Garlinge. You will also find a wealth of information relating to policies, values and standards.

To apply, please complete the online application form. Please do not attach a CV as all necessary information should be provided in your application form.

A formal thirty minute interview will take place on Tuesday 7 December with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team. You will also be expected to teach a 30 minute lesson to a Year 3 class. The lesson will be observed by a member of our Leadership Team. You will also be required to deliver a short presentation to the interview panel before the interview itself.

Garlinge Primary School and Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our Safeguarding Policy can be found on the school website. This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and check against the ISA Barred List for children.
