Safeguarding Officer – Maternity Cover

Hours – 22 hours per week – Hours could be negotiable

Term Time only – plus two inset days  

Kent Range 6 – Salary range £20,997 - £22,918 (FTE)

Start date – 8th November 2021    

We have a vacancy for a Safeguarding Officer to cover maternity leave at Wrotham School.

We are looking for an emotionally intelligent and resilient individual who wishes to support the positive development of student welfare.   

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:  

The Safeguarding Officer has the main responsibility for managing child protection issues within Wrotham School and ensuring the policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources and personnel are in place to promote the welfare and protection of children.  Actively working jointly with parents/carers and other agencies through joint planning, training and monitoring of their arrangements for the protection of children.  Ensure there are quality assurance mechanisms in place to monitor, review and evaluate arrangements for the protection of children.  

The candidate would be required to have good communication skills, be organised and it would be desirable if the candidate already has relevant experience or qualifications in a safeguarding role.

The role is paid on Kent Range 6, £20,997 to £ 22,918 for a full time position, and a pro rata salary of £10,364 to £11,312.  The hours and times could be flexible for the right person.
