Four Elms Primary School have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced school secretary. 

Salary: KR5 (FTE £19,723, Pro Rata £14,901.12)

Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week (30 mins lunch break) 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, term time only including inset days + 2 days

The successful applicant should be experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking. They will be the face of Four Elms and ensure a welcoming, professional reception to all children, parents, carers, staff and visitors. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.

Candidates will need to be positive, highly confidential with all matters, have a professional attitude, be well organised, highly flexible and have excellent inter-personal skills. They will be the first point of call for all visitors to the school office as well as for any incoming calls. They will also be responsible for supporting the administration associated with school admissions, attendance and some data management.

For a candidate with knowledge of financial and school budgetary systems KR 6 is payable.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

  • Experience of working within an office environment, essentially a school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A friendly, flexible and professional approach, particularly when multi-tasking under pressure.
  • A good working knowledge of office management systems such as Microsoft Word/Excel
  • A working knowledge of SIMS is a significant advantage, although training and support will be provided to the suitable candidate.
  • The ability to prioritise workload to ensure office systems operate efficiently for the smooth running of the school.
  • You will have a positive approach to working with children and a commitment to our safeguarding procedures. 

The post is for 39 weeks plus 2 days per annum.

Four Elms is a small village primary school located in the lovely village of Four Elms. The School has four classes, Reception are taught in Class 1 following the EYFS Curriculum. Years one and two are taught together in Class 2, Years three and four in Class 3 and Years five and six in Class 4.
