We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy team. Good Maths and Literacy skills are required and further training and support can be provided. 

This would be a contract for 26 hours per week TTO Kent Range 3 £18,425 (pro rata to £10,996) 

The ideal candidates should:

  • Have experience, but not essential, of working with children with Special Needs
  • Have a minimum of an NVQ2 qualification and or equivalent GCSE Maths and English at C+
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Be keen to develop their skills and use their own initiative where appropriate
  • Have energy and determination to make a difference
  • Have commitment to raising standards and achievement for all pupils

Information about the school

Sandwich Junior is a two form entry school, who currently have 222 pupils on roll. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, which include two large playgrounds, a gardening area, outdoor music equipment, an Orchard and a full size Labyrinth to aid mindfulness and reflection. The school has a strong set of Core Values which underpin everything we do. Our location in the centre of Sandwich, Kent means we serve families from the town and the wider area. We received an Outstanding grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (May 2022). We have a friendly, dedicated staff who work seamlessly together as a team, ensuring every child reaches their own personal excellence through a focus on quality first teaching and pastoral support.
