We have a vacancy for a Cleaner to join our friendly site team for 15 hours per week from December 2021 or sooner.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining areas of this Special School to ensure they are kept in a clean, hygienic and safe condition. You will be employed on Kent Pay Range 3 (approx £9.55 per hour) pro-rata, and will be required to work for three hours per day, Monday to Friday during term-time  (39 weeks) plus four weeks during the school holidays.  These hours may be worked either early morning (6.00am to 9.00am) or late afternoon (3.30pm to 6.30pm) to suit the candidate.

In addition, the postholder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, Bank Holidays and the KCC concessionary day. 

Applicants will be reliable, flexible, trustworthy and expected to have experience of cleaning to a high standard and be confident in the use of relevant cleaning equipment. You will also need to be able to work within set routines and to form effective working relationships with colleagues and other members of staff.

It is essential that you understand and are able to apply health and safety procedures relevant to the job.

The successful candidate will also require good everyday communication skills and written and numeracy skills appropriate to the role.
