We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic person who is looking for an opportunity to bring your experience to an outstanding School  We currently have a vacancy for a Midday Meals Supervisor. 7 1/2 hours/ week TTO (12 noon - 1.30 p.m.)

You will be required to help set up the dining hall, this will include some heavy lifting, and supervise pupils during the mealtime period both indoors and out, minimising disruption, ensuring their wellbeing and maintaining their safety within school guidelines and policies.

Whilst experience is not a necessity, a genuine interest in children is - you need to like children, to want the very best for them and be prepared to put their needs first to ensure they have a calm and happy lunch time.  Children will be at the heart of your work; you must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.

The ideal candidate will

  • Be able to use initiative to deal with any issues that arise and adapt to situations accordingly
  • A high level of motivation, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with children and colleagues
  • An awareness of how to ensure the safeguarding of our children
  • A current First Aid certificate or the willingness to train
  • A capacity to show initiative when encouraging children to engage in play activities
  • Be willing to offer new ideas and accept change as and when the need arises

Herne C.E. (Aided) Junior School is a well-respected and oversubscribed school in the village of Herne.
