Job Title: Youth and Behaviour Intervention Worker

Location Orchards Academy                  Salary/ salary range: Kent scale 8 £26,205-£29,885 (FTE)

37 hours per week (41 weeks per year, 2 being in the school holidays)

We are very excited to be recruiting a Youth and Behaviour intervention worker to join our staff body. We are looking for an individual with the ability to build relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Someone who can create a variety of strategies to support and mentor pupils to re-engage them with their learning.  One-to-one and group work supporting pupils, providing information, advice and guidance will be integral to the role.  The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, the ability to reflect and a personal desire to improve and develop. The ideal candidate will be proactive and passionate about working with pupils and their families to remove barriers to learning.

Amongst other things this individual must have;

  • a strong understanding of working with young people
  • experience in a youth work setting
  • an understanding of how to re-engage pupils with their learning
  • ability to develop and create sessions for small groups and individuals
  • ability to work with external agencies
  • a willingness to undertake professional development
