Advert

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspiring Teaching Assistant who wishes to work with our children and staff, following our Gospel Values of Love, Care, Share, Respect and Trust.

Stella Maris Catholic Primary School is an over-subscribed school that is at the heart of a supportive Catholic community as part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership.  In our last Ofsted inspection, we was judged as ‘Good’.

We offer an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team focused on providing creative opportunities to allow our children to learn and achieve. We are looking to appoint someone who is able to inspire our children, working with energy and enthusiasm. This role will involve you working in class, supporting both the whole class and individual children. Therefore, you will have excellent communication skills and be a team player in order to allow our children to reach their individual goals.  We ask that you are educated to GCSE standard.

This is a fixed term position of 32.50 hours per week, term time only, plus Staff Development Days until the 31st August 2022 (funding dependent). This role involves lunchtime duty.

In return, we can offer you an exciting, well-organised, vibrant environment, with outside space in which to work, with an experienced, committed and ambitious team supporting you.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged to see all the school has to offer; please contact Mr Andrew Gretton to make an appointment or to ask any questions you may have on

Closing date for applications: Monday 11th October 2021 at 09.00

Interviews will take place: Thursday 14th October 2021

Any offer of employment is subject to our Safeguarding checks, including satisfactory return of an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service, references and a pre-employment health history questionnaire.

Information about the school

Stella Maris is a happy, family school that was judged to be ‘Good’ in every category by Ofsted in June 2023 and achieved 'Outstanding' in our RE Inspection in March 2023. We are a one-form entry Catholic Primary School, serving children from all over the Folkestone and Cheriton area.

We are an Academy and part of the Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership. This allows us to work closely with other schools, sharing and learning from each other to continuously improve outcomes for all our staff and children.

We offer an exciting, stimulating curriculum and staff enjoy some outstanding CPD opportunities. We are lucky enough to be set in beautiful surroundings with lots of outside space with a woodland trail and fire pit area. We are nestled next to Lower Radnor Park, in close proximity to Folkestone Sports Centre. We have a warm, welcoming ethos, a problem-solving approach, and high expectations of all our children and staff.
