The Pathway Academy Trust (TPAT) is a small Gravesham Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) of 5 schools, working collaboratively to improve outcomes for children from our communities.

The aim of our Trust is to ensure that the achievements of the children are the best they can be; our Trust schools are happy inclusive learning spaces. Our schools value their school’s hard-working and dedicated staff, ensuring effective staff retention and recruitment.

Currently, TPAT is recruiting volunteers with an interest in their local communities to consider becoming a Director. Ideally, the Trust is seeking someone with finance, HR or governance experience to further strengthen our Trust Board.

Directors are responsible for governing a charitable company and directing how it is managed and run. Directors must also ensure that TPAT complies with all legal and statutory requirements.

The Trust encourages Directors to make a positive and meaningful contribution to the work of the Board by:

  • attending meetings (typically 6 full Board meetings each year), reading papers and preparing questions for the senior executive leaders in advance;
  • establishing and maintaining professional relationships with senior executive leaders and colleagues on the board of Directors;
  • getting to know schools within the Trust, including visiting occasionally during school hours; and
  • undertaking induction training and developing knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis

If you are interested in joining the Board, please contact either Nicole Caulfield (Deputy CEO) (nicole.caulfield@tpat.co.uk) or Ron Dale (Company Secretary) (ron.dale@tpat.co.uk) with

  • a copy of your current CV
  • a brief outline of what attracts you to this role
  • a brief outline of your relevant experience
  • and what skills you might bring to the Board

Information about the federation

The Pathway Academy Trust is an innovative and forward thinking Multi Academy Trust (MAT) consisting of five schools in the Meopham and Gravesend area of Kent. Guided by our experienced and successful leadership team, we believe that collaborative working across the trust will enrich the opportunities for all of our children, providing a nurturing environment in which they can thrive and reach their full potential.

Learning is at the centre of our pedagogy. We believe that every child is unique and ensure that learning experiences are tailored to meet the needs of individual children. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality learning experiences; learning is fun, practical and engaging.

The Pathway Academy Trust was founded in October 2015 by the Governing Bodies of Culverstone Green Primary School and Riverview Infant School. Since forming, the Trust has grown with the addition of Riverview Junior School in September 2017, Wrotham Road Primary School in 2018 and Meopham Community Academy in September 2018.

The Pathway Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role will involve contact with children, referred to as 'regulated activity' therefore all applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
