The Local Governing Body requires a well organised, experienced individual to provide clerking support for their meetings.

This role would require attendance at governing body meetings six times a year (once each term) which are scheduled to usually be held on a Thursday starting at 6.30pm for two hours. The governors anticipate that an additional three hours per meeting will be required for clerking tasks, preparation and generating the minutes.

Google Docs are used to create agendas and minutes, alongside using a governing body specific Google Classroom as a vehicle for sharing documents. Familiarity with the suite of Google apps would be beneficial but is not essential.

The governors would be keen to hear from applicants who are self-employed in this field and seeking further clerking commitments.

To apply, complete the Kent Teach application form online - please give regard to the attached documents when completing the reason for application, ensuring you indicate how you fit the person specification.

Information about the school

Bysing Wood is a friendly Primary School located on the western outskirts of Faversham. The school is growing in popularity, building on a successful Ofsted and the fantastic range of facilities offered alongside a great atmosphere. Currently the school has 160 children on roll, organised into a single form of entry from Reception to Year 6. A building project to become 2 form entry over the next few years has recently been completed. September 2018 saw the start of a Forest School provision on site and we opened a pre-school in January 2020, catering for 2,3 & 4 year olds. In March 2020, we were a founder member of EKC Schools Trust, which provides access to the EKC Group colleges' resources to further enrich our curriculum. At Bysing Wood Primary School we value each child as an individual and encourage them to achieve their personal best in a happy, secure, stimulating environment. The displays in school are a major strength and help evidence the rich, relevant, termly topic-based curriculum (with associated visitors and trips) on offer. Our staff are committed to developing the whole child, encouraging learning through knowledge, skills and practical activities. We also support them to become tolerant, respectful and caring individuals who enjoy their work and play and are proud of their achievements. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is high, pointing to the social and economic challenges facing a proportion of our families, although the profile is changing over time as the housing developments in Faversham come on stream.
