We are seeking a Site Manager who is self-motivated, highly organised and flexible to be responsible for the management and operation of school premises related functions (including a small local satellite).  The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to oversee and manage all aspects of site management and be pro-active in the development of working practices and improvements, including overseeing larger projects as they occur.  You will possess practical skills to carry out general maintenance and repairs and ensure a safe and healthy environment is maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.  The Site Manager will line-manage and direct the Site Team (2 other members) and in addition will liaise with the contract cleaners. 

 

We are looking for an individual who has:-

  • Strong organisation and leadership skills – the ability to lead and organise others and their own workload.
  • A strong desire and the ability to be pro-active in maintaining the smooth and efficient running of the school premises and displaying a high quality appearance both internally and externally.
  • To be able to manintain the grounds.
  • Knowledge and expertise in general maintenance and repairs to buildings and grounds, plant and equipment.
  • Project Management Skills – the ability to lead and procure quotations with contractors for day to day repair, service and maintenance. To facilitate procurement of quotations for larger projects in cohesion with the Business Manager and Leadership Team.  To oversee the works through to completion.
  • To possess strategic planning skills, be innovative
  • Driving is essential. A clean driving licence is required to manage the school’s small fleet of vehicles.
  • A happy disposition, good communication and organisational skills with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Some knowledge of Health & Safety procedures is essential – further relevant training will be given to the right candidate.
  • The ability to adapt their skills into a school setting and the day to day routines that ocurr.

This position is offered on a full time permanent basis (52 weeks, 37 hours per week).  Currently the hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm finishing at 4.30pm on Fridays and 8.00am to 4.00pm during school holidays.
