Are you the very special teacher our pupils need?

Our children need a lively, fun, positive and motivated professional who will ideally have experience of working with children with autism and associated social and communication difficulties. We are looking to appoint a teacher for KS1 starting in January 2022 or sooner. Experience of working within the Primary or Early Years phases of a specialist provision will be a strong advantage but mainstream colleagues are welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will either be an experienced and successful SEN teacher who wants to develop their career, an NQT who can demonstrate they are going to add to the school or a mainstream teacher who has a desire and passion to move to special needs teaching.

Ideal candidates will:-

  • hold a recognised teaching qualification
  • be resilient and have a good sense of humour
  • have experience of teaching pupils with special educational needs in either a mainstream or specialist setting
  • be flexible and keen to learn
  • be able to differentiate their approach for pupils with a range of abilities
  • have excellent interpersonal skills with students, parents, professionals and other adults
  • be an effective team player with proven ability to coordinate and direct the work of classroom support staff.

The post offers exciting professional development opportunities for candidates seeking to develop their career within a professional, friendly and supportive environment. We offer an Induction programme and support for all new staff and you will have experienced colleagues to learn from and with. Stone Bay is part of Ksent, a cooperative trust of 24 special school across Kent.
