Advert

A rare and unique opportunity- we are excited to announce that we are looking to recruit a talented, enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Headteacher from January 2022. This vacancy has arisen due to the promotion of the current post holder and is a rare find at our Federation where staff turnover is very low!

Are you a middle or senior leader who is looking for a new opportunity? Are you someone who embraces challenge and constantly strives to improve performance through inspiring and leading others? Can you contribute to the growth and development of our very successful schools?

This exciting opportunity could be for someone who will lead Personal Development, Mental Health and Wellbeing or alternatively, lead Teaching & Learning across the Federation.

In either role, you will be a member of the strategic Leadership Team and will also be required to undertake the day to day running of the school in the absence of the Executive Headteacher.

Personal Development/Wellbeing/SENCO role

Working in both schools, you will be responsible for the monitoring and support of the wellbeing of all children and staff.  This will include ensuring that the wellbeing programmes are embedded in each class, and that children who need it are provided with additional support. In addition, the position involves taking on the SENC0 role for 2.5 days a week;  SENCO experience would be an advantage but not a requirement.

Teaching & Learning role

You will work across both schools, responsible for the continued development of our curriculum, pedagogy and the implementation of evidence based practice in both our schools.  You will model and lead teaching excellence, equality and high expectations of all children in both academic and extra-curricular achievements. You will oversee the development of indoor and outdoor learning environments that are engaging and fulfilling for all pupils and staff and promote innovative and effective digital practice within the classroom.  Leading assessment for learning across the federation, you will work closely with the executive headteacher in monitoring the academic progress of all children.

As a staff we share the belief that all pupils, regardless of their conditions in life, can achieve excellent outcomes when surrounded and supported by talented teachers with high expectations and purpose driven parents and carers. We know that learning in primary school can transform a child's life. We are looking for a highly adventurous, energetic and innovative leader who will embody and model the core values of our Federation;  Curiosity, Courage, Compassion and Commitment.

In return we can offer an attractive and extremely well resourced working environment, a highly motivated and dedicated team of staff who are committed to school improvement, professional development and the achievement for all pupils, motivated and happy children, a supportive governing body and friendly parents.

Visits to the school welcomed and encouraged - come and see us in action! For more information, or to arrange a visit, please contact the school office on 01580 211365 or email the Executive Headteacher on lindsay.roberts@1010federation.org  Shortlisted candidates will be notified by email.

Information about the federation

The 10:10 Primary Federation has been formed through the collaboration of Goudhurst and Kilndown and Benenden CE Primary Schools, both situated in small picturesque villages in the Weald of Kent.

Goudhurst & Kilndown Primary School which was graded Outstanding at our last Ofsted and SIAMS inspections; Benenden Primary was graded good in both their respective inspections.

The catchment areas are mixed, with children from a wide variety of backgrounds. Both our schools are very well equipped and our facilities are excellent.

We place high value on developing the ‘whole child’. Academically, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum, rich with outdoor learning opportunities; we have established Forest Schools in both schools which all children experience.

Children's wellbeing and mental health is of an equal high priority; the learning and pastoral support from within and outside of the schools fully support this.
