Information about the school

Petham Primary School is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, within the peaceful village of Petham, situated a few miles south of historic Canterbury. The school, which has approximately 110 pupils on roll, is organised into 4 mixed-age classes from Early Years to Y6. We have excellent facilities both indoors and outside and were awarded ‘Good’ at our last Ofsted inspection in July 2019. The school’s outdoor space and location lends itself to support the development of a curriculum which has outdoor learning at its heart and the potential for an enriched Forest School to be established. The school works closely with families and has strong links with the local community, has a thriving PTA and an experienced staff team. Children at Petham are motivated, happy and have a thirst for learning.

We are part of a newly merged Trust of 10 schools - Our Community Multi-Academy Trust (OCMAT). Being part of the Trust provides excellent opportunities for professional development, networking and sharing of best practice. OCMAT is also a member of the Kent MAT Alliance (KMA). The KMA is a group of 9 Multi-Academy Trusts with 38 primary schools across the county. We are a like-minded collective group who strongly believe we are better together; working collaboratively to improve the educational outcomes of all the children in our care. As part of this we have access to a wealth of CPD and networking events.

Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to 2x references and an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. We will also seek references before interview.
