CENTRAL LIAISON OFFICER

The Viking Academy Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised Central Liaison Officer (CLO).  This is an exciting, brand-new role working to support and underpin the non-educational part of the Trust central leadership team.

The successful candidate will be directed under the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO) in supporting the thriving business function of the trust. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for line managing the Trust Caretaker to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and ensuring that health and safety procedures are followed. The successful candidate will also act as the link on behalf of the trust for our larger scale procurement projects.  In addition to this, the successful candidate will oversee some of our ancillary services such as our ICT, cleaning and catering contracts.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, fast moving team who wants the very best for Viking Academy Trust.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure legal and operational compliance, ensuring the Trust Caretaker implements the statutory compliance and due diligence procedures.
  • Managing the administration of having contractors on site such as obtaining insurances, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Oversee IT in terms of procurement and licences
  • Project management
  • Working with the finance team to select and appoint external contractors.
  • Obtaining quotations, packaging these quotations and presenting them to the Finance Team in accordance with the trust Finance Policy.
  • Monitoring training records to ensure compliance i.e. working at height, warden training etc
  • Ensuring that the contracts register and statutory compliance records are updated regularly
  • Dealing with insurance renewals
  • Manage existing contracts ensuring best value to the Trust. Engaging in service monitoring visits with contractors.

What you’ll need:

  • IOSH / alternative Health and Safety qualification or willingness to embark on these qualifications.
  • Experience of office administration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with suppliers, contract management and tendering
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience of presenting to senior leadership
  • Proactive, motivated and driven
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Full valid driving licence
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Motivates, enthuses, inspires and empowers team to deliver service excellence

Salary: Kent Range 8 / 9 (Salary negotiable dependant on experience)

Hours per week: 37 hours, all year round.
