If this sounds like you then look no further! We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative Teaching Assistant to join our small and friendly school.

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assitant to support a class of Year 5 & 6 children.

The contact hours in the classroom are 26.25 hours per week, but extra hours may be available to cover lunch-time supervision/ playground duties.

In this pivotal role, you will work with a whole class of children supporting with educational, behavioural, communication, social and emotional development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of the children , to ensure they attain their individual targets.
  • Be aware of and support differences to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Assist teachers with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A good standard of general education to level 2 (i.e. NVQ level 2 or the equivalent) together with GCSE level (Grade A-C pass), or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with a children
  • The ability to relate well to children, understanding their needs and being able to respond accordingly with good influencing skills.

Hoath Primary School is a small rural school that has much to offer. Hoath Primary School is Federated with Chislet C. E. Primary School. The Federation of Chislet and Hoath is an established Federation of two small village schools nestled in beautiful countryside between Canterbury and the sea. The Federation consists of two small but perfectly formed schools each having their own administrator and budget but sharing a Leadership Team and Governing Body.
