Clerk to Governors required for September 2021

Salary: Payscale BR7, point 22-25 £25,173 to £27,150pa (£13.41 to 14.46 per hour dependant on experience)

Casual contract for variable hours as required, generally 15-20 hours per term.

Edgebury Primary School is a very popular two-form entry school located in Chislehurst, just outside of Bromley. We are gradually increasing in size from a one form entry school to two forms, being fully two forms in September 2022. We are a foundation school co-operative Education trust with three other Foundation schools in Bromley. The co-operative Education Trust is known as ‘Aspiration for All Co-Operative Trust’ (AFACT) and we are not an academy. As a close group of schools who share the same aspirations and vision we work together to share ideas, training, resources etc and support each other in striving to get the very best outcomes for each and every one of our children. This allows us the freedom to continue to improve the educational opportunities and continuous development for all of our school communities.   

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to be responsible for providing a professional clerk services to out Governing Body. Our Governor meetings are held during the evening or sometimes in the early mornings.

The successful applicant will:

Display excellent standards of verbal and written communication

  • Display the required understanding of school governance requirements
  • Be competent in the use of ICT (Word, internet, etc)
  • Work well within a small close-knit team
  • Enjoy working in a child centered environment
  • Be organised, flexible and able to work well under pressure
  • Behave in a warm, yet professional manner towards colleagues, pupils and visitors at all times, and contribute to the positive ethos of the school

Key Responsibilitiesl include:

Providing full clerking services to the school Governing Board.

  • Accessing information and providing advice on all governance, procedural and constitutional matters to ensure ongoing legal and regulatory compliance.

Edgebury Primary School is set on a large attractive site with extensive playing fields, a forest school, quiet areas, a sensory garden and a climbing area. Currently, we are busy fundraising to secure a double decker bus to extend our outside learning opportunities. Our accommodation is of the highest standard with half of the building only a few years old and the old part re-furbished. At Edgebury we aim to provide high quality teaching in a happy and caring environment where all children are given the opportunity to fulfil their potential in all aspects of their development.
