Cognitive Behaviour Therapist/Psychotherapist/Counsellor

 

Part Time 1 day per week, term time only Special Needs Position

 

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable CBT Therapist/Psychotherapist/Counsellor to join our staff team.

 

This is a new position and one that could develop.

 

All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs or Autism as their main area of Special Educational Need and from time to time would benefit from the additional support of a highly specialist trained member of staff.

 

Key requirements:

  • BABCP/BACP accredited/registered National Counselling Society
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Proactive, creative and innovative
  • Emotionally robust and reliant
  • Flexible engaging and adaptable
  • Willing to learn teaching strategies and technique
  • Knowledge and understanding additional needs and Child Protection.

Information about the school

All 80 students on roll have an EHC plan with SEMH or ASD as their main SEN need. Most have additional associated diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. All have a broadly average cognitive profile with behaviour presenting as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

It is essential that have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with student who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and or Autism and experience of working successfully with other agencies to help these children achieve positive outcomes. A high proportion of our children are eligible for pupil premium.
