Are you a caring, enthusiastic person who is looking for an opportunity to bring your experience to an outstanding staff team at Chilton Primary School? If so, you could be just the person we need to join our dedicated Midday Meals Supervising team.

You will be required to help supervise pupils during the mealtime period (outdoors for playtime), minimising disruption, ensuring their wellbeing and maintaining their safety within school guidelines and policies.

Whilst experience is not a necessity, a genuine interest in children is - you need to like children, to want the very best for them and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work; you must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.

The ideal candidate will

  • Be able to use initiative to deal with any issues that arise and adapt to situations accordingly
  • Have a keen interest in learning and a willingness to engage in training
  • A high level of motivation, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with children and colleagues
  • An awareness of how to ensure the safeguarding of our children
  • A current First Aid certificate or the willingness to train
  • A capacity to show initiative when encouraging children to engage in play activities
  • A positive rapport with colleagues and children

They will have the opportunity to:

  • Become part of a team that will play an integral role in the building of an outstanding and unique school.

Please note that this role will include periods of working outside, all year round.

The hours are 6.25 per week (12:15-1:30 on week days) in term time only.

Interviews for the posts will take place in person and will adhere to all social distancing requirements.

The contract will be temporary until the end of August 2022 initially.
