What we would like:

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to work at our school which was Good at OFSTED (May 17).  We are looking for an excellent practitioner who is excited about taking up a post in our school working within KS2.  This post will initially be based in KS2 but applicants should be open to the idea of teaching across KS1 and 2.  This post would suit an experienced teacher looking for a change or an ECT.

Our school is aspiring to outstanding and offers the chance to work with amazing children who are keen to learn, well-mannered and fun to be with.  Our staff are a supportive and hard-working team who value their own professional development and are always looking for innovative ways to support pupils in their learning and personal development.

To that end we need a teacher who is keen to develop their own practice and is focussed on providing a holistic high quality learning experience for their class where aspiration holds no bounds!

Informal visits to the school are warmly welcomed, please contact the school office on 01795 477750 or email tcadwallader@southavenue.kent.sch.uk to arrange an appointment.  Due to the current situation visits will follow the government social distancing rules.

Evidence of qualifications will be sought and should be available if called for interview, as well as documentation clarifying identity and right to work in the UK.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.

Information about the school

South Avenue is a very popular two form entry primary school in Sittingbourne and is a member of Fulston Manor Academies Trust. Our school vision is We Discover, We Learn, We Grow. We aim to ensure every child is ready for a lifetime of learning and equipped for the real world. We strive to find those barriers to learning and support the children in a nurturing way.

The latest Ofsted (October 2022) agreed that children are happy to attend our school and staff 'have produced an ambitious curriculum and have high expectations for all pupils.'

'The school ethos of together we discover, we learn, we grow is upheld in lessons and activities across the school. Pupils know the school's values and use them to guide their thinking in class and when at play.'

There is a strong community feel about the school and we pride ourselves on looking not only to deliver a rich and balanced curriculum and providing pupils with the tools to learn; but also having a strong focus on the well-being of each child.
