We are looking to appoint a fixed-term full-time teacher to cover maternity leave between Term 2 and Term 5 (November 2021 and May 2022).

Ideally, our candidate would be available in Term 1 2021, for occasional subject leader release or cover needs, as well as being ready to join for a handover week, potentially at the end of Term 1. For us, appointing the right candidate is paramount; we want a dynamic, creative and motivated team-player. There is flexibility for this to be a KS1 or KS2 post, depending on the skill set of the successful applicant.

If you are:

  • Ambitious and committed to professional development
  • Committed to inclusion, innovation and creativity in learning
  • An experienced and/or excellent EYFS/KS1/KS2 teacher with high expectations of children and adults
  • Able to uphold and encourage the school's strong Christian ethos
  • A strong team player who can collaborate with the team in supporting the school development
  • Aspirational and inspirational, with high expectations of learning and behaviour
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills

We can offer:

  • An exceptionally caring and supportive school community
  • Hard working and passionate staff team
  • Well behaved, friendly and confident children
  • Excellent resources, facilities and IT
  • Professional development opportunities

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please email office@chevening.kent.sch.uk to arrange a visit to the school before 24.06.21. Visits to school are encouraged and will be organised in line with our COVID-restrictions.

Information about the school

We are a thriving, one form entry school within an idyllic village setting with excellent road connections. The school has close links with St. Botolph’s Church, Chipstead village, and Chevening House. We have been graded as Good by OFSTED (2019) and Outstanding by church SIAMs (2017) inspections.

Chevening children are enthusiastic and enjoy learning. The staff team is diligent and dedicated to providing the best education for the children.

We are inspired by the Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13: 31-32): “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” and aim to provide an excellent education by being

  • true to Christ and His teachings.

  • known for kind and thoughtful actions and attitudes.

  • inclusive in serving, sharing and showing God’s love to benefit all.

This Biblical Vision underpins our discussions, decisions and direction; our school values are well-established and alive in all we do. We are seeking individuals who can uphold this ethos.

If you want to know more about this opportunity we would love to hear from you.

Chevening (St Botolph's) CE (VA) Primary School is committed to equal opportunities and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff to share this commitment.
