This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our small village Church of England primary school with a friendly community feel.

This is a permanent position for 27.25hrs per week, term time plus five staff development days.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Knowledge and experience of working with KS2 and the KS2 curriculum. Knowledge and experience in KS1 as well, would be desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of Phonics
  • Knowledge and experience of planning, teaching and delivering small group interventions
  • Enthusiasm and be committed to the highest of expectations for all children.
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Characteristics which represent our school Christian values; Kindness, Forgiveness, Peace, Courage and Love.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively alongside other schools within the DEALT and DLA. 
  • A good level of Maths and English grade C GCSE or equivalent.
  • A willingness to assist in a mixed year group class
  • Be a learner themselves – open to continuing professional development opportunities
  • Be a committed team member, show initiative and proactively work to improve their practice.
  • Very high expectations of behaviour and be committed to establishing positive relationships with every child.

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work alongside a class teacher initially in KS2.

Sholden Church of England Primary School is a delightful small, church primary school located on the outskirts of Deal. We have 4 classes, 3 of which are mixed year groups and approximately 105 pupils on roll. We have wonderful, hard working and well behaved pupils, a dedicated team of professionals to lead them and a welcoming school community.
