We have an exciting role for someone with the right skills & qualities who can match the energy of our staff and pupils. We are looking for someone who has a passion for leading teaching & learning through coaching & collaboration to continue our journey in shaping the most vibrant engaging school possible. This is a fixed term post to cover maternity for one year and presents a wonderful opportunity for the school and for someone looking for the next step in their career. You will be given the time & space to lead a whole school initiative on instructional coaching across the school & be responsible for the development of teaching & learning, gaining valuable senior leadership experience. The post will be paid competitively & directly related to skills & experience, as well as offer a bonus for outstanding results. It will initially be for one academic year, but will be reviewed depending on success & capacity.

Ideally you will:

  • have a passion for teaching that supersedes any bad day, be self-driven, aspire for excellence & inspire others
  • have experience of leading & developing others & a range of teaching experience in a primary setting
  • be able to evidence training & development in this area
  • be able to engage a team & bring a vision to reality
  • have experience of classroom observation & coaching for development
  • use a range of information to evaluate teaching & learning
  • understand the importance of collaboration when developing teaching & learning strategies
  • be confident with a range of formative & summative assessment strategies & support the school in developing pupils’ retention & recall
  • be able to manage a project & work on own initiative
  • be up to date & forward thinking in teaching & learning strategy theories & be able to apply this daily
  • be passionate about curriculum development & bring ideas to further develop our journey so far
  • want learning to be purposeful & authentic
  • have a strong sense of achievement & be able to inspire the children & staff around you
  • have a good understanding of the impact of deprivation on school communities
  • be an outstanding team player
  • be sensitive to the Christian ethos of the school & be able to support the school in leading Worship
