We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, supportive and forward looking school. The successful candidate will be required, under the direction of the class teacher, to support a child in our Year 1 Class on a 1:1basis. The position is subject to high needs funding.  Therefore please be aware that the contract will cease if the high needs funding for the child ceases.

Applicants should hold at least a relevant NVQ2/OCR or equivalent. Previous Teaching Assistant experience in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 is essential.  A first aid certificate would be an advantage along with experience of delivering Read, Write, Inc.  Knowledge of Speech and Language development and difficulties and ASD would also be an advantage.

The weekly hours, for this part-time position, are 20 hours, 9.00am - 2.30pm Monday-Thursday. The position is to start in September 2021. However, we would like to do some transition work with the appointed candidate in Term 6 if possible.

Information about the school

St Peter's Church of England Primary school is a small, family school with around 105 pupils. We are located in the East End of Folkestone overlooking the harbour and on the same site as St Peter's Church. Our Christian ethos is based on the Gospel Values. We provide a warm, friendly, supportive atmosphere where we all work together to ensure every child flourishes and achieves their full potential.
