Year 3 Teaching Assistant 1:1 - 22 hours a week

Do you have experience of supporting teaching and learning in a primary school? Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who can show initiative and enjoys working with children? Can you create learning opportunities linked to children's interests to engage them in the curriculum? We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 3 pupil to support their learning.

We are looking for the right person who will:

  • Work in partnership with our Year 3 teaching team
  • Deliver high quality learning support to engage pupils
  • Use their initiative to look for opportunities to personalise the curriculum to capture their interests
  • Be organised, flexible and patient in order to meet children’s needs
  • Have a positive outlook, with a good sense of humour and high expectations of our children.

We are looking for candidates who can support the positive caring ethos of our school and who have the qualifications, experience and willingness to form and sustain positive relationships with children and staff, and be flexible in their approach to meet our children’s needs.

Candidates must have experience of supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting.

Candidates must have the minimum qualifications of 5 GCSEs with a good pass including English and Maths, and/ or NVQ Level 3 or above. Please make sure that your application reflects the full range of skills and experience which you would bring to the post, which would make you the ideal candidate.

The hours will be 22 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only. This is a temporary post until March 2022, linked to additional funding. The exact timings of each day's working hours may be negotiable with the right candidate but will need to be 22 hours in total across the week.
