Do you have a passion to work with children in Primary School?  Are you willing to go the extra mile to give our pupils the best possible start in life? 

We are looking for a suitably qualified Teaching Assistant with a preferred Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or working towards this qualification) to work across both Key stage one and two. The role involves daily interaction with pupils and the class teacher, following lesson plans and preparing the learning environment.  You would be expected to use your own initiative to support the teaching staff, and be able to work with small groups effectively, across the school.  Our children are delightful to teach and you would be joining a happy, successful school with our setting allowing for learning inside and outside of the classroom.  Our aim is to make a positive difference to all our pupils and families.

Your role would also include working alongside our lunchtime supervisors to provide our children with lunchtime supervision and happy playtimes, encouraging them to play games and enjoy social interaction.

You will need:

  • sensitivity and understanding for building good relationships with children
  • excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn
  • active listening skills to understand the children's needs
  • patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • to be flexible and open to change in order to work on different activities
  • to enjoy working with other people
  • the ability to teach pupils new skills
  • the ability to create the best conditions for learning and teaching to take place
  • to be computer literate
  • a sense of humour and enjoyment of cake!

Information about the school

Crockenhill Primary School is a community primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years, occupying an attractive site, at the heart of the village of Crockenhill. We are a one form entry school, with capacity for up to 210 pupils. The school is close to the town of Swanley and boasts excellent road and rail links to London and Kent. Our buildings run seamlessly from Victorian to new build and the classrooms are bright and welcoming. We have a dedicated art room, computer suite and library and several breakout spaces for small group work. The school also has a small wildlife garden and large playing field with an area dedicated to our forest school. The school is very proud of its sporting achievements and actively engages in many tournaments.
