We have a full time vacancy due to support a named pupil with SEND.  Therefore we are looking for a suitably qualified Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis initially in a Key Stage 1 class. Experience in autism and speech and language would be an advantage but not essential.  

This would be a contract linked to a named child for the duration that the child is at our school. It is a full time 30 hours per week, Term Time only, Kent Range 3 (or Kent Range 4 for the right candidate with the necessary skills).

You would be joining an established friendly team and work alongside our Inclusion Manager to ensure you are fully supported in fulfilling your role.

Information about the school

Victoria Road Primary School is a small one-form entry school. There is a maximum of 30 children in each class and the total school roll is 210.

The school is more than 100 years old, but is in good condition despite its age. It is located close to the centre of Ashford and is only 5 minutes walk from the main railway station and International Station. We have a field and several playgrounds. All classrooms are well resourced with support from teaching assistants.

Our children, primarily coming from south Ashford, are friendly and a pleasure to teach. The school is popular in the area we serve with a friendly and dedicated staff who have an ethos of sharing and support.

The school was judged as Good in its last inspection carried out by Ofsted in its last inspection (February 2019). This identified many strengths including, a strong shared vision and 100% of staff who are overwhelmingly proud to be part of the school.
