An exciting vacancy has become available for a full time Teaching Assistant at Newington Community Primary School, to commence in September or an earlier date at the school's discretion.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced practitioner to join our outstanding team. Fundamentally, we are looking for a candidate who is kind, hard-working and who will work with the children's best interests at the heart of everything they do.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience working within a Primary School setting or with primary aged children as a Teaching Assistant
  • Has strong Maths and English skills (ideally, equivalent of Grade C or above at GCSE)
  • Is able to plan, deliver and assess small group interventions with impact
  • Has a positive attitude and is passionate about helping children to learn, thrive and flourish
  • Has a proven track record of working with children with a range of learning needs
  • Is well organised, reliable and a flexible team member
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with children and colleagues
  • Is self-motivated and able to show initiative in inspiring learners
  • Has high expectations of pupils and an understanding of how to help children to develop as independent learners
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development

The position is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2022 in the first instance. 

You will be contracted to work 30 hours per week, during term time, and will include supervision of children during the mealtime period.
