We are pleased to be offering a rare opportunity to join our school team.  We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (30 hours per week) for a fixed period of one year in the first instance. Experience is desirable.

The position may require working in any year group from Reception through to Year 6.

This requires you to be flexible, well organised and to work as a team with other T.A.’s and Class Teachers. You should be able to work creatively to support and extend children following our inclusive ethos.

Job Purpose: • Support children with their learning, through activities and interventions under the guidance of class teachers • To ensure successful lunchtime opportunities for the pupils through supervision and play-leading •To work alongside the whole school in promoting children’s well-being, ensuring their needs are recognised and provided for.

Information about the school

Built in 1882, Davington is a 14 class school set in six acres of beautiful surroundings. Our buildings range from the original school through to a modern new block opened in 2023.

We have two fields, a swimming pool and a fantastic Woodland with a classroom, orchard, pond, story telling area and much more. All classes have access to a fully interactive Discovery Suite and Music Room alongside other workspaces beyond the classroom. All learning spaces are well resourced.

Through our curriculum, our children are taught to observe, discuss, reflect, create and problem solve to flourish and achieve challenging personal targets using the full potential of our grounds. We celebrate all success at DPS and offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities for our children from rugby to flower arranging.
