An exciting opportunity has arisen for a food technician at St Augustine Academy in Maidstone.

Applicants should have a knowledge of working within a food environment / kitchen and have a working knowledge of Health and Safety. You must be competent in the use of kitchen appliances and be able to deal with face to face communications.

The successful applicant will be required to help out on a range of tasks, including, but not restricted to:

Support learning by assisting students and the teacher during all practical lessons including demonstrations of skills, techniques and equipment.

Ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe working environment.

Prepare, operate and setup equipment and materials required for demonstrations and class practical work.

Ensure the maintenance, ordering and collection of supplies of both food and equipment.

Routine monitoring of kitchen equipment including end of term processes.

You need to have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across a wide spectrum of people. You will need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have the aptitude and initiative to solve problems and plan your work load.

The hours are 15 hours a week, working 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday.  Exact hours by agreement.

Salary:-  WAT Support Grade D pts 6-9 £6,838 - £7,256 (FTE £19,698 - £20,903)
