This is a fixed term position, in the first instance until August 2022, linked to high needs funding and is for 30 hours per week, term time only, plus 3 INSET days a year. Contracts are reviewed annually dependent on funding streams for students with additional needs

Our vision is simple – to ensure that all of our students achieve beyond our expectations and flourish as confident learners with the highest aspirations, ready for the university or careers of their choice and also ready for the world in which they will work and live. We are relentless in our pursuit of the very best for all our students.

The High Weald Academy is a rapidly changing community academy and as part of that we are we are looking for a creative and inspiring colleague to work alongside our teachers in supporting our students – particularly those who need us even more in order to achieve their absolute best often because they have complex and individual needs.

Your previous experience as a classroom support professional is less important to us than your clear vision on what can be achieved for our students and how we can motivate and inspire them to achieve great things. Because you have a calm, personable and patient manner and because you are creative, persistent and interested you will know why that is. An interest in supporting students with ASD or developing the skills and knowledge to do that would be advantageous.

Our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever their starting point can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives.

The High Weald is a small, non-selective co-educational academy that serves the communities of Cranbrook, Staplehurst and the surrounding areas, where every student on roll is supported and challenged to reach their own personal excellence.

Salary: Kent Range 3, £12,451 per annum (£18,039 for a full time role)
