Thistle Hill Academy are looking for a Parent Support Advisor to support our school community. The successful applicant will be able to start in Term 6 (June) in order to carry out training and get to know the pupils and parents to be fully prepared for a new academic year in September!

The Parent Support Advisor is an important and integral role in our school and the successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher to support our pupils and parents. This year has been a particularly challenging year and schools have gone above and beyond to support our families, e.g. providing free school meal vouchers, food hampers, sign posting mental health support and providing resources for home learning. We are looking for someone who is prepared to be pro-active in suporting and finding solutions for families.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience of working with families, including parents, pupils, professionals and agencies. It would be desirable if they have knowledge of inter-agency provision that support schools and families. The candidate should be able to work in a collaborative way to manage the diverse needs of pupils and families.

We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional inter-personal skills, communications skills and an understanding of the needs of children and young people. The ability to build and maintain positive relationships is essential. You should also be organised and efficient in order to keep effective and accurate records. Training and regular supervision with the Trust Safeguaring Lead are provided.

This is part time, term time only role (22.5 hours per week). The working days can be discussed at interview and agreed with the successful candidate. You will also be required to work 3 Inset/Staff Development Days throughout the year.

Annual Pro rata'd starting salary is approximately £9853 (gross)
