Tiger Primary School is looking for a Nurture Practitioner to join our hardworking team of staff. We know that good mental health and positive wellbeing is essential for children to grow and thrive. This belief is at the heart of our culture, ethos and curriculum.

The work of our established Nurture Provision is underpinned by the 6 key principles of Nurture and the provision plays a key role in promoting positive wellbeing for all; through its work with individuals and groups, along with wider outreach work with the whole school.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children experiencing social and emotional difficulties and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the role; responding to the ever-changing needs of the school and children within it. They will believe that every child is their own superhero; they just sometimes need support and direction to find this within them.

Key responsibilities;

  • Work directly with the Nurture Lead Teacher, assisting with the delivery of the provision, but with the confidence, skills and dedication to ultimately lead the provision.
  • Planning and delivering a personalised curriculum of activities to support the developmental, social and emotional growth of the children attending the provision.
  • Proficient use of the Boxall profile and other assessment strategies to identify children’s needs and required actions.
  • Liaising with staff members, parents and carers in order to understand and support each child in their wider lives, beyond the Nurture setting
  • Supporting teaching staff to understand and implement nurturing principles within the classroom

Key attributes and skills;

  • An understanding of how early attachments and relationships effect our development and growth
  • Direct experience of working with children experiencing social, emotional or mental health difficulties
  • Resilience, patience and confidence when faced with challenging situations
  • The ability to work independently whilst also making valuable contributions to the wider school team

This a truly rewarding role that requires commitment, passion and dedication. We will offer support and ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enable you to grow in this role.

We welcome contact from prospective applicants via phone or e-mail.

Interviews will be held on 5th / 6th May 2021

We will offer you:

  • A vibrant and exciting place to work
  • An excellent CPD programme, with opportunities for action research and gaining nationally accredited qualifications
  • The support of a Trust that currently runs two secondary schools, primary school and Nursery for children aged 3 months to 4 years
  • An opportunity to join various schemes such as the Benenden corporate healthcare scheme

Only applications submitted by the school application process will be considered, we are unable to accept CVs.
